The Long House / shout out to brothers and sisters in the wild winter
« on: January 17, 2018, 10:38:01 PM »
buried under snow
cold weather?
may we all be safe, healthy
with a little tea for comfort
out here, it's still bike-riding time
skies are big and blue
chilled cheeks and gloveless fingers
cheers and best wishes to all

The Long House / With sadness I've discovered, r.i.p. kemp
« on: February 12, 2016, 11:49:26 PM »
Opening facebook, I read of his passing.
Suddenly by his own hand. I don't know why or the situation, but in recent days he was posting photos.  A few days ago, he wished his friends to live in peace.

Medical marijuana to be distributed at Israeli pharmacies

Published: 07.27.15, 17:38 / Israel Culture

Israel took a major leap on Monday when Deputy Health Minister Yakov Litzman announced that more doctors will be able to prescribe medical marijuana to their patients, and that it will be made available at pharmacies, pending a Supreme Court decision on the issue.

Speaking at the Knesset Committee on Drug Abuse, Litzman said: "Even today there are pharmacies that give all kinds of other medications like drugs and morphine - we'll establish order in this as well. At the moment we're dealing with the Supreme Court because of the issue of growers."

Litzman added that moving distribution of the drug to pharmacies will serve to strengthen growers who are due to submit tender requests in the near future.

The committee's chairwoman, Meretz MK Tamar Zandberg, welcomed the announcement. "This is great news for the first time in a few years years, since the field of cannabis hit a dead end. The transition of medicinal cannabis treatment to specialists and distribution at pharmacies is a huge step forward."

Other officials, doctors and patients, expressed excitement at the impending reforms in the hopes that treatment will become accepted, more effective, and the surrounding bureaucracy more efficient.

The Library / please, not Nepal
« on: April 25, 2015, 10:19:44 PM »
please, say you weren't there
you had other mountains to climb
other villages to tour

say you chose to stay put
not to backpack that day
not to follow your dream

write a stupid update
a duck-faced selfie
say you're with friends

please, not Nepal
say Shanghai or Kyoto
say you're alive
