The Long House / INTRODUCING RALPH METZNER, guest chatter on Saturday
« on: January 04, 2008, 01:00:18 AM »
We are privileged to welcome Dr Ralph Metzner to Spiritplants.  Click here for chat details:
http://www.spiritplants.org/phpbb/viewt ... 9329#19329

A contemporary of Tim Leary and Richard Alpert, with whom he wrote ‘The Psychedelic Experience’ in 1963, Dr Metzner is a ‘spiritplants’ elder, even to those of us here who are old heads from the 60’s.
His Green Earth Foundation ( www.greenearthfound.org ) seeks to pass on the vital information for a harmonious existence and his most recent project is a series of fascinating workshops: the Alchemical Divination Training Program:
www.metzneralchemicaldivination.org
Working with students at the California Institute of Integral studies, he lectures on ‘…the meeting of Eastern and Western spiritual and psychological traditions…’
http://www.ciis.edu/faculty/metzner.html

If anyone has a question for Dr Metzner would you please pm your question to either Kemp, Obodaour or Glandmaster.
The sooner we receive your question, the more likely you are to be on the list for Saturday’s chat.

I haven't a computer of my own right now and only get sporadic use of my flatmate's one.
I have a few IRC withdrawall symptoms ...
I'm building a computer from left over parts from old ones and whatever new things I need.  Bob knows how long this process will take.
btw: My 'valuable' painting is dammaged and de-valued to abt 5,000 - just in case you are wondering why I don't just buy another computer.
Also I can't bear to scrap good components and add to consumption and waste which is the main destroyer of our biosphere.
Missing you all, and this site too ...

The Site / BOTS
« on: June 24, 2007, 03:49:56 AM »
We still get some bot registrations and although they appear as members they can't post at all.
Every so often a bot slips thru my net (well, only once so far) and if I am unsure I will leave the authentication for a day or so coz the bots scripts seem to only activate if their registration is authenticated in a certain time-frame. I am alert to when this script gets advanced too, so no worries folks.
I am asking someone to remove the 'newest member' feature so it doesn't look so lame and I am sure many forum owners are constantly working to be rid of these marketing ploys.

The Kitchen / Vegetarian?
« on: December 26, 2006, 05:09:09 PM »
Food .. what a great idea for a forum here but unused as yet I see.
What happens in our kitchens?
I am forever fighting my hedonism in there.
A long-time vegetarian I have been converted back to fleshly ways(and not by Infected Mushroom).  I adore fresh fish which has been a staple of my diet here in New Zealand, along with other seafood (scallops plucked from the freezing August ocean beach).
The most important thing for vegetarians is getting a good quality protein.
Useable protein consists of 28 amino acids and there is an ideal combination of these. To get a good whole protein, with all the aminos we need try combining these foods:
-Corn and red beans
-Soy beans and brown rice
-Lentils and wheat (lentills stewed with onions and spices, served on whole wheat toast or in whole wheat pita bread)
-Peanuts and milk (the good old sandwich and a glass of milk)
-Garbanzo beans (aka Chick Peas) and Sesame Seed (hooray for hummus!)
-Three seed mix : pumpkin seed kernels, sunflower seed, and sesame seed.

The Medicine Lodge / San Pedro Flowers?
« on: April 12, 2006, 02:17:23 AM »
Browsing for some pics i found a site with the following information:

SAN PEDRO CACTUS [C] Trichocereus pachanoi (white with brown-red reverse)
Cactaceae, Cactus Family
Body: Enhances auric protection from many types of radiation and contaminants: EMF, ELF, nuclear, sound/aural, air pollution, etc. Works on auric levels rather than physical; helps the Body Deva choose which types of influx best serve general health, and reject other qualities of input. Assists function of energy body in its role as a filter for external energies. Useful in MS, auto-immune disorders; stimulates the immune system's discernment.
This essence impacts communication throughout the Body Deva's systems. Each aspect has its own level of awareness; when these are not communicating and coordinating clearly with other systems, we have dysfunction. Although used alone it will not cure karmic conditions, San Pedro Cactus can assist in simple systemic miscommunication.
Psyche: Expands auric boundaries. Filters information coming into the psyche, for clear messages of good intent; useful in power and manipulation situations, where negativity on any level could be easily taken on from others. Illuminates issues of self and other; find harmony in disparate viewpoints and realities.
Spirit: Opens crown chakra; assists influx of Light to higher chakra centers, which is then distributed throughout the body by the Body Deva.

I don't know how much credence to give some the new-agey stuff people get into but do try to be open minded ...
