The Site / Please Read

After a falling out with dddshroom, I no longer have access to the server. All donations, support, payments or questions may be sent to him at 3dshroom@gmail.com

It's been a long and interesting run but I guess I am done.

The Site / A call to all members and lurkers

Dear SPF'ers,

It is not cheap running a server and we can't afford to do it without help. With this said I am making an official plea here and at 2 more forums I host for donations. We are not greedy either, I am only asking for donations of $1 - $5, anymore would be appreciated but not needed. The sad thing is this server would have no money issues if as little as 10 people out of the hundreds of active registered users on the boards we host donated as little as $2 a month a piece.

Donations can be made through Paypal by clicking the button located here... http://pkeffect.com/time.php. You do not need a Paypal account donate. If someone wants to donate but can't or don't want to use Paypal please contact me and we can work something out.

Hope you all have happy holidays and are looking forward to the new year ahead of us.

Your Mostly-silent Admin,

SPF Chat / Chat Room Details
« on: January 22, 2011, 01:24:05 AM »
Main IRC Information

Listed below should be all the information one needs to join us for real-time communication via IRC. First, we will cover something simple. If you have never used IRC before or are just too lazy to install a proper client then, you can choose one of the three options below or use a proper IRC client to connect.

Note: PJirc needs Java runtimes installed to work. If if doesn't connect on the first try just hit connect again.

PJirc and CGIIC not working right now, will fix.

Server Details:
  • SERVER :: lycaeum.org
  • PORT(S) :: 6667 (normal), 6697 (ssl), +6697 (The + is needed for ssl for mIRC clients only)
  • CHANNEL(S) ::  #spiritplants, #ayahuasca, #help
Common commands:
  • /list - This lists channels.
  • /nick yournamehere - To change your name.
  • /join #nameofroom - To get where you want to go.
Extra Information

*Note Some school and workplace firewalls prevent people from joining, we are working for ways to get around that. Stay tuned.

The Site / UPDATE: Bugs & New Features / Changes
« on: January 21, 2011, 08:40:38 PM »
Dear SPF'ers,

We have recently been moved from yage.net. Andrew has decided to stop his hosting of any sites not related to his job. I offered to host and maintain SPF and we are now on my server along with many other ethnobotanical based sites. The board software has been updated and restored with minimal loss. I think we lost maybe 4 or 5 posts the day the site was in transition. The smilies and attachments have been restored as well.

There are a few more tweaks and changes I am doing now and will continue to do over the next few days. If anyone notices anything missing/wrong/broken or whatever please let me know. If there are and new features that you may want to see added please add those as well.

The top of the board including the chat link that takes up the whole header and the paypal donation button along with radio links will all be fixed hopefully by tomorrow. Our new IRC chat server is also up and running with SSL. I will make a more detailed post on it in the coming days as well.

I would like to thank you all for being patient with the migration and hope you enjoy some uninterrupted service from now on. I do not post much on forums anymore but I will always be checking in to update and keep the site maintained.

SUMMARY:
On May 5th 2001 Dr. Rick Strassman visited the spiritplants.org (then .com) IRC chatroom and spent a few hours discussing his recently released book, DMT The Spirit Molecule. Since then Dr. Strassman has been helping others in similar fields of research that prompted him to undertake his studies. This chat will be a summary of that work and everything he has had a part in.

This is an open invitation from the spiritplants community to anyone who would like to attend. The chat will be moderated with a queue channel/private messaging system setup for the moderators to take questions and allow the person asking the questions to be put in line to ask them. This system worked well for the last couple of guest chats and should again.

Logs from previous guests chats can be found here:
http://pkeffect.com/neurotranslinguistic/?page_id=14

The log from this chat will also be available there after the logs are coded. No more than a few hours after the chat takes place.
