Important issue this. I also watched 'The Great Global Warming Swindle' and was mostly convinced that the earth is being heated up by the big shiny hot thing in the sky. Human contribution to the warming is rather small in comparison but our contribution to pollution is out of control.

The best (the only) method that works for me is to ring the plants with woodashes while young and vulnerable. When they get big they are more resistant to the lil blighters.
One has to replace the circle of ashes after heavy rain and it can lead to an imbalance of phosphorus in the soil ( but I dunno coz my plants have never suffered).
Happy gardening!

Many bright welcomes  :!:
You should try the chatroom for English practice.

We have a truly multinational chat and many people have honed their english language skills in there.
The link is at the top of the page.

oooh, I *have* to disagree about the neutering and speying. Its like the best of a bunch of bad options. If people were more repsonsible about their pets breeding the issue would go away.
I am currently involved in ridding our neighbourhood of breeding pit-bulls and my safety is threatened by my actions because the dudes are so pissed off that i informed on them to Animal Control.
I believe it was my social duty to do so. Better that than another person get mauled by a dangerous dog or their ignorant owners be allowed to continue breeding them fpr the fighting pits.

I'm even laterer than him. I have had a lot of slug and snail damage over the years and that one looks like it has a chance of continuing to grow as a tip, rather than make pups from the damaged point.
I would do what jik said and just pot it up. I use woodashes to deter the slimy creatures. Replace after rain, works a treat. If you must use slug poison get the expensive, kinder, type and remember each plant needs only about 5 baits. People really tend to over-use that stuff.
Happy growing!

I agree with VB but I have no idea at all of its name.
What decided me that it wasn't a tricho is that its ribs are wavy; each aureole being raised up in a way I have never seen on a trich.
Welcome to the forum and happy growing.

Hi all ... the new roomie means i have all my stuff cramped into a small and not-yet-organised space. The 2 computer boxes i am gonna take apart/use the bits of are at the back of my crowded desk. I really must clear up all this and meanwhile my kid broke his leg and is hopping around on crutches and i have an expanding household to clean up after and maintain facilities for. Its been grat fun though and the new roomie is a most excellent guitarist, albeit a beer-soaked one.
Can't wait to catch up with you all and trusting 'no news is good news'.

I haven't a computer of my own right now and only get sporadic use of my flatmate's one.
I have a few IRC withdrawall symptoms ...
I'm building a computer from left over parts from old ones and whatever new things I need.  Bob knows how long this process will take.
btw: My 'valuable' painting is dammaged and de-valued to abt 5,000 - just in case you are wondering why I don't just buy another computer.
Also I can't bear to scrap good components and add to consumption and waste which is the main destroyer of our biosphere.
Missing you all, and this site too ...

The Site / BOTS

We still get some bot registrations and although they appear as members they can't post at all.
Every so often a bot slips thru my net (well, only once so far) and if I am unsure I will leave the authentication for a day or so coz the bots scripts seem to only activate if their registration is authenticated in a certain time-frame. I am alert to when this script gets advanced too, so no worries folks.
I am asking someone to remove the 'newest member' feature so it doesn't look so lame and I am sure many forum owners are constantly working to be rid of these marketing ploys.
