Thanks Judith. I like to spice things up. As it is, I have too much spice and not enough grafting supplies, but that is always the case with me when it comes to grafting. When I see a lemon or a lime variegate I have to decide... do I make areole grafts and gift these things out to as many people as I can? Or do I save my grafting supplies to save these other freaks in my collection? The choice is usually pretty clear. Save as many freaks as you can and worry about making more areole grafts later for gift giving.

Enough chatter though, here is a before and after picture I realized I did not post the really early before... so here she goes. Along with a photo taken today of course on the right.

I thought I would a pod that has aborted to show that this particular cross is not the easiest to make. As  you can see, when this one aborts it aborts at the peduncle. Most pods abort before they get this large and the peduncle merely separates from the plant dropping the seed pod. As this one developed a bit more, the peduncle turned brown and withered rather than separating.

On this week's show:
* Featured New Rock Album: Michael Chapman, *50* (2017) . . . Chapman is a British folk musician who commemorates his fifty years as a performing artist with this Americana sounding album, produced by the great Steve Gunn, & recorded & mixed at the venerable Black Dirt Studio . . . it's a beautiful album, great playing, gritty at times, rocking at others . . . I found this LP because of my love for so many Black Dirt Studio-associated artists like Gunn (Nathan Bowles plays on this one too), & lucked into discovering an artist who could not have made this deeply grooved an album if he hadn't fifty years of music-making behind him . . . hope many more too . . .

* Featured Classic Rock Album: Tim Buckley, *Blue Afternoon* (1969) . . . Singer-songwriter Buckley's fourth LP is a kind of beguiling folk-jazz synthesis . . . moody, as its title hints, & often breathlessly beautiful . . . each song a continuance of the last one, but a shift as well . . . a young master at his good work . . .

* Storybook Time*: Continuing Chapter 13 of *The Unconsoled* by Kasuo Ishiguro . . .

* Readings from *Many Musics*, *Bags End News* & *Labyrinthine* . . . & this week's featured artist is Lord Huron, & cuts from their great early EPs *Into the Sun* (2010), *Mighty* (2010), & *Time to Run* (2012). . . will be now starting this show at 8 pm New England time, diving in a little earlier in the evening, see what new & old magicks come on . . .

Webcasting to the globe & beyond from Ye Olde New England!
The Kitchen / Re: Is anybody here into the art of FASTING?

No food or water for 4 days is something I've done as it is part of the Lakota vision quest. Only, you don't get to sleep either or sit. You simply stand for 4 days without food or water. It is a fast way to lose weight and a slow way to reach a vision.
