On this week's show:

* Featured New Rock Album: Temples, *Volcano* (2017)  . . . Been waiting three long years for this English psychedelic band's second release . . . it's a winner . . . they build on the delicious trippy music of their first record, add in more organ, deeper layers of sound, move along in their sweet lysergic sounds . . .

* Featured Classic Rock Album: Snow Patrol, *When It's All Over We Still Have to Clear Up* (2001) . . . This show has featured the last four LPs from this Northern Irish/Scottish band's six total records, all of them great . . . this time dig a little deeper to their second album, & it's terrific too . . . their sound is still sweet, but its rocking moments are rawer, sounds of a still-young band processing through its heroes to find its own music . . . this album shows this happening . . .

* Storybook Time*: Continuing Chapter 10 of *The Unconsoled* by Kasuo Ishiguro . . .

* Readings from *Bags End News*, *Labyrinthine*, & *Many Musics* . . . & this week featured artist is The Troggs, a great '60s garage band with a couple of big hits & a lot of lesser known treats to discover . . . it was warm in New England for a stretch, way too spring for Feb/March, but now the snow is coming back en masse . . . want green green grass in summer? Gotta have lots of snow now . . . what a cycle . . .

On this week's show:

* Featured New Rock Album: Grandaddy, *Last Place* (2017)  . . . It's been over a decade since this American indie-rock band last released an album, but it was incredibly worth the wait . . . beautiful acoustic, rocking, orchestral music full of sadness & weird computer noises . . . a wonderful return, easily one of the new year's best albums . . .

* Featured Classic Rock Album: Thunderclap Newman, *Hollywood Dream* (1969) . . . Thunderclap Newman was a British one-hit wonder band that Pete Townshend of the Who and Kit Lambert formed around New Year 1969 in a bid to showcase the talents of John "Speedy" Keen, Andy "Thunderclap" Newman and Jimmy McCulloch (Wikipedia) . . . though they were together hardly long enough to release one LP, what a release it is . . . "Something in the Air" was its big one-hit, but there are 11 other great tracks that rock out, some at delicious length . . . worth recovering, remembering, hearing again . . .

* Storybook Time*: Continuing Chapter 10 of *The Unconsoled* by Kasuo Ishiguro . . .

* Readings from *Bags End News*, *Labyrinthine*, & *Many Musics* . . . & this week featured artist is The Troggs, again, another helping of their trippy treats from the garage . . . now, I suppose, though snow covers the ground, spring is making its way to New England at last, soon . . .

On this week's show:

* Featured New Rock Album: Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, *The Tourist* (2017)  . . . Been six years since this Philly indie rock band was featured on this show . . . their first three albums were great, but the last one sub-par . . . their new one is back to business fine . . . their music is a kind of angular, nervous, poppy-ish sort of sound . . . lyrics are strangely delightful . . . good to be spinning them again

* Featured Classic Rock Album: Randy Newman, *Sail Away* (1972) . . . While some know this Los Angeles singer-songwriter more for his film soundtrack work, he has many good studio records to his name . . . this was his third LP, & it is a melange of wit, brood, & wish . . . the music is mellow, but intense . . . listened to it on headphones last night after midnight . . . & kept putting it back on . . .

* Storybook Time*: Continuing Chapter 10 of *The Unconsoled* by Kasuo Ishiguro . . .

* Readings from *Bags End News*, *Labyrinthine*, & *Many Musics* . . . & this week featured artist is The Troggs, continuing our voyage through their garage of treasures . . . tis springtime come, a time of hope & renewal, & these ideas are very human ones but, still, they count, they matter, we can do good with them . . .
