Has anyone here experience with this Botanical?

I have been drinking coffee for years and love it, but it does act as a diuretic. This is why truckers prefer Ephedra pills - from what I've heard.
So I'm looking for a replacement for my Coffee, and I think I have a likely candidate!

Having previously been a driver before, I know that coffee and road trips doesn't always mesh =)

How have you prepared this?

Have you wild collected materials?

Grown your own?

I also gather that Mormon tea, is a related subspecie that has no Ephedrine, but instead related compounds.

Thanks!

Matthew

I've heard many of the same things and that plants containing ephedrine and pseudoephedrine are not hard to grow. I'm not so sure about their safety. As an alternative I'd suggest st john's wort. It gives lots of energy and is supposed to be safer than caffeine.

I know that there have been some problems for people who have abused pure ephedrine, however the botanical has a long history of use without incident in it's natural form.

Does St. John's wart provide a stimulation or more a mood lift?

I just read that it has many fewer side effects than modern 'anti-depressants'

Here's a great link about SJW

From the Mayo clinic!

Considered Guarana ? Caffeine containing but an altogether different feel than tea or coffee, and I've not myself noticed diuretic effects, though they probably are apparent. The affects of Guarana are probably more suited to driving, being longer, less peaky and generally nicer!

Caffeine is caffeine. If that's your thing, go for it. St John's when I used it was fairly decent. It's dose dependent and it takes a few days to fully kick in. It gives you more energy and motivation. It's good for working. It doesn't seem to give jitters like coffee. It's cheap so try it and see what it does for you. If nothing happens, try more. It can be grown but it's cheap and available.

ephedra contains psuedoephedrine and/or ephidrine. mild stimulant and can be used as a precursor to meth.

its a restricted plant in alot of places i think. would love to grow some tho (if it was allowed, im in new zealand btw)

Sida cordifolia( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sida_cordifolia ) also has ephedrine and pseudo-ephedrine in it, but only about half as much as Ephedra sinica( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ephedra_sinica ). However, it is not as restricted, either. Whatever the case, both have mixed well with other stimulant herbs. Don't over do it though, for these two herbs can be harsh in larger dosages.

Try the Ephedra plants and Theobormine.

Theobormine is the shit, seriously, it's like MDMA-caffeine.
