Hi !!!
hey i got some tiny small white bugs in my caapi plant.. They're like 1-2mm long, they crawl and they jump, they're white and they live in the soil, they never go on the plant..
anybody knows how to get rid of those ? I tried to let the soil dry out but they don't go away.. Is there any natural way to get rid of them? Of any natural or biodegradable insecticide i can use ??
Thanks !

Try neem oil and follow the directions on the label.
It is natural and safe.
It that doesn't work or is too hard to find, try insecticidal soap or horticultural oil.
Do not use outdoor products for pest control indoors.
Another option is diatomaceous earth.
The top of your potting soil can be dusted with the DE to kill the insects.
Welcome!

Hm, I wonder what they are. Is there evidence that the bugs are harming the plant?

Might be nothing to worry about. I've had small jumping bugs like that, too. Hell, when I came back from uni this summer I discovered caterpillars in my Zacatechichi, but the plant was fine. Also, in newly potted soil I often find small flies breeding, which always become a nuisance indoors.
Wet soil is just a natural place for many harmless (though sometimes annoying) insects to live in.

Fungus gnats are them little flies in the potting soil. I just potted some plants with a fresh, newly opened bag of Miracle Grow and those little buggers sprung up like...fungus gnats...straight out of the soil. Once the soil dried out, they mostly went away.
