Sorry to put my big foot in here... but I know it's very expensive to fly to iquitos and come to the conferences... so we have edited the best of the 1st two Conferences and now they are online for you to view. The company is out of London and they have taken the time to edit and encode and are only charging 15 Sterling... that's about 28 dollars. The first Presentation by Dennis Mckenna is free to everyone, after that if you want to watch the entirety of the 2 Conferences, it's 28 dollars. Not bad at all. You have one year to view them and do so as often as you wish.
the website is: Copy and paste the following link into your browser to take a look:

Soga Del Alma - Vine of the Soul

International Amazonian Shamanism Conference Webcasts
Available to view online

"Soga del Alma" - "Vine of the Soul" - organize an annual International Shamanism Conference in Iquitos, Peru. These conferences include talks by leading scientists and Shamans presenting on various Amazonian healing techniques as well as alternative types of natural medicines.

Soga del Alma, working with Media On Demand, has embarked on an exciting new venture, to take the important content of these conferences to a wider audience through webcasting.

We are delighted to be able to make the presentations from the 2005 and 2006 conferences available for the first time via a pay per view webcast. For £15 you are able to watch over 30 presentations from these two conferences.

Speakers include: Dr. Dennis McKenna, Peter Gorman and Alan Shoemaker, Dr. Richard Grossman, Jimmy Weiskopf, Frank Echenhofer and many more. Each speaker has a specific topic they will discuss and every traditional curandero will also speak independently as well as be a member of the panel discussions (all of the presentations are translated into English). The healers presenting are those that typically use Ayahuasca in order to heal people, regularly drink the sacred medicina (Ayahuasca) and carry this knowledge with them in order to help other people make contact with the Vine and thereby get the knowledge they need to rebalance their beings, their lives and keep on living wisely, with open eyes on the world.

So that you can take a look before you purchase all of the webcasts for the conferences, we have made Dr. Dennis McKenna's presentation on Ayahuasca and Human Destiny available for you to view free of charge. Just click here and enter your e-mail address to access the presentation.

Purchasing the webcasts is easy. Simply click here and register your details and pay online. You will then be able to access all of the talks from the 2005 and 2006 conferences for one year.

If you have any difficulties accessing the webcast please contact the Media on Demand technical help desk at support@mediaondemand.net

We hope you enjoy the webcast.

Well, let's see. at 28 dollars, that works out to be 2.33 dollars a month for one year...
this was done by a professional company in London, edited, watched, encoded and made available to the public. Can't see how it could be any less expensive. For you that can afford it, i'm happy we could make it available.

Hello Mariella,

Say hello to Alan for me and let him known that I always post his mailings at many entheogenic sites when he sends them to me.

Do not feel bad about people who complain they cannot afford a small amount of money for information someone worked hard to make available for the public.

I sell at times, on discount, my 48 page (12 colored photographs and 43 in black and white Photo) mushroom ID book for $10.00 and I get complaints that they cannot afford to buy it and will look for a free down load to o download the data off of my site, a site which has more than 14,000 images, articles, art, wild animals and a record free download of me and the Beatles.

They cannot not even afford to buy Paul Stamets more expensive book and look for free downloads.

Problem there is that Stamets goes after people who put his works online for a free download.

Many people feel that anything someone has on the internet should be free to everyone.

I apologize that there are people on the internet who want everything for free and do not even go to school to finish high school.

This is what has become of internet knowledge.

Have a shroomy day.

There are 99.999% good people at this site and only one or two would be bold to say they could not afford to learn from someone who is offering them a chance to gain some knowledge.

Uh, Boomer, you can peddle your stuff but you are getting out of line slandering those who do not want to pay a substantial fee to view something. I did not say it was a ripoff, or that you were a ripoff. I did not call you any names and I'd appreciate it if you knock it off with the attitude

"I apologize that there are people on the internet who want everything for free and do not even go to school to finish high school."

That is out of line. That is getting into a personal attack.

"There are 99.999% good people at this site and only one or two would be bold to say they could not afford to learn from someone who is offering them a chance to gain some knowledge."

So anyone who declines to pay the $28 is a bad person? I suggest you should feel glad you are allowed to peddle your stuff here and not have to pay us a fee or any commission for doing so. That is a privilege, not a right.

First, I do not peddle my stuff here at Spirit Plants nor do i peddle any stuff on my website.

And I did not call anyone a rip off. I only stated that many people who frequent many of these websites cannot afford anything which people have too offer. Even when a print is free, I read of people saying they cannot afford the dollar postage to get a free print.

And by the way, in more than thirty years I have wholesaled over 1,000,000 spore prints and sold over 100,000 copies of "Magic Mushrooms of the Pacific Northwest, and not a single one of those books was ever sold by me to a member of the Forest Floor.

They were sold through Homestead book Company in Seattle, my distributor or Amazon.com or any of the other bookstores which carried them when they were in print. My book is only distributed by Homestead who also distributes High Times and all of the major drug and subculture books sold on the West Coast of America. And The West Coast of Canada.

boomer2

And I have also posted freely here, a majority of my published articles in other journals and magazines and have never asked for any money or contributions and I have also posted here, rare and hard to find historical literature here in regards to magic shrooms and again never asked for a penny.

So to say I peddle my stuff is not true.

thankyou senor for your help in getting this info out. it truly was done so that those who could not afford to get to the conferences could at least view them via the net. Had I the time to do so, guess I could have put it up myself but ...
sorry for the lashings you got. generally this is a sign that the person can't afford to play, which is unfortunate.
I'd be nice to see you again as well... when are you able to come down?
thankyou very much for all the incredible things you have done, given and sold to the public in the many years you have been involved. it is much appreciated and you are very highly respected for your work. May you continue to walk in the light, with peace my friend.

The 3rd and 4th Conferences are being edited and encoded and those two will be made available, probably around December. and the 5th International Amazonian Shamanism Conference: The Art of Healing
will be July 18th - 26th, 2009 held again here in Iquitos.

all the good things to everyone here....
alan

Boomer, first let me say that I support what you do here and in the larger entheogen community. I have no problem with the fact you are making money or that most of your posts are to promote something you are doing. That is fine.

Some of the mods have said nothing should be sold on this site. Some say trading is OK but not selling and some are against trading. I happen to be one of the few speaking in favor of letting individuals and small business people sell their wares as long as they are regular members. So far, the 'pro' side has prevailed but the 'con' side may ultimately carry the debate. It would be best not to give your enemies any ammunition.

Just as you are free to offer goods and services or to promote some event, others are free to discuss those things and may have another point of view. If someone doesn't like your pricing, instead of lashing out at them, try to talk it out in a pleasant manner. You catch more flies with honey than vinegar. Even if you don't win over your skeptics, those watching see you handle yourself in a positive manner and are impressed.

I don't think your price is too high if someone wants the video. If they get something out of it, it's worth the price no matter what it is. But, you see movies all the time on dvd for less than $28, just as a comparison. Today I saw some movies on sale for $4 and those movies cost millions to produce.

I'm sure many people from Spirit Plants have bought your books and other things. I myself have bought stuff from Homestead, Amazon and elsewhere. When I buy something I pay with credit card and say nothing about membership in groups that discuss drug use or anything suspect. When you are giving out your real name, you try to keep a low profile.

As a mod, part of my job is to try to get people to play nice. That's all I want here. If someone starts attacking you personally for something, I will get on their case. We can discuss anything based on the merits, not on dissing the person or questioning their ethics or education.

IT is not my Video. It is Mariella and Alan's comcasts. I only responded to their post with a letter Alan had sent to me earlier and asked me to spread the news around. I also get Emails of similar seminars and such from Jonathan Ott, Dr. Ralph Metzner, Bretienbush and the Botanical preservation Corps Conferences, as well as Mind States, and the Psychoactivity conferences. And also the Telluride Colorado shroom festival each year. Even we have a monthly mycological society her ein Seattle, $20.00 a year and you can go to 12 meetings, get news lettersm, etc.

AS for movies, I have two thousand DVD's and about 1500 CHS tapes. so I know about the cost of movies.
