Extract?

I use plain leaf.

And last time I smoked any sally, a friend wanted to see what it smelled like and I figured I'd do a couple of little hits for the lingering after effects. SO I sat at the bar in the kitchen and horked down a couple of small hits. Then I had to fight like hell to stay out of sally space and on my bar stool...

Reverse tolerance is real.

haha nice one LW, i must say, since i finally sourced a cutting here in new zealand, ive been enjoying the plain leaf, not even to venture to her land, but just to enjoy the light shift in perception..until you have one bowl too many and dissapear.. works well to strech other combustables, or to add an extra layering..
i reccomend the extracts, but start smaller, like 5X or something, to help break through or get enough salvia in a single inhale, i always find that the sally doesnt hit until i exhale, kinda like your exhaling the 'normal' reality...
the stronger extracts should only be used by someone who is comfortable/experienced with where they might be taken, dismembered and spat back out, kinda a minimal smoke stratergy..

If you go into a salvia trip with some sort of question or intention that u are focused on it can sort of keep it from getting so weird and distracting which can allow you to get more out of it . Although sometimes it has other ideas and you have to roll with . The green ferns you mentioned are good . I almost always see some sort of green wall, blanket, curtain , field plants etc which becomes more pronounced the higher you get but when i totaly break on through i'm sort of inside that green , it just washes over and through you and then some really weird stuff happens which can't be descibed but is always amazing. the break through level is worth checking out someday but i think salvia's best potential is with plain leaf that is potent, maybe up to 5x if you are a hard head .... 10 x or up can easily lead to extreme discomfort for the majority of users. way too much unless you have alot of experience and a sitter. ......I stick with plain leaf these days and its plenty powerful as long as you get a decent hit. the only downfall is salvia smoke has alot of tar which makes extracts useful but it becomes very easy to take too much .
