Classic Rock Album: James Gang, *Rides Again* (1970)...this was Joe Walsh’s old outfit, before his golden years with the Eagles, they rock it good hard, but then sometimes will bring in the orchestra for some more prog-rock-type music…this album thought by many to be their best, a band worth remembering and knowing better...

Storybook Time: Chapter Twenty-three of *Breaking Open the Head: A Psychedelic Journey into the Heart of Contemporary Shamanism* by Daniel Pinchbeck...

Readings from *Labyrinthine* fixtion & *Many Musics* poems...& this week's featured artist is the Five Man Electrical Band, a Canadian group from the early ‘70s best known for their beautiful hippie anthem, “Signs,” but there is more gold to be discovered in their music…July took its hard bite for sure, still looking for a new wheel to cast my shoulder against, but not giving up, keeping my legs moving like Emmitt Smith used to do for the Cowboys, looking for that elusive daylight to run toward….

Quintet *Trip Thru Hell* (1968)...some several decades before the Hold Steady appeared on the scene in Minnesota, there was this strange, groovy, deeply psychedelic group, one that made a single solid album of trippy songs...in its own day, the album existed in less than 1000 copies but it has survived to now by word of mouth...a short, bottomless journey...
