Recently dried Peyote buttons can contain up to 8% total alkaloids of which about 30% is mescaline.

Hesham R. El-Seedi, Peter A.G.M. De Smetc, Olof Beckd,
G¨oran Possnert, Jan G. Bruhn, (2005). Prehistoric peyote use Alkaloid analysis and radiocarbon dating of archaeological specimens of Lophophora from Texas. Journal of Ethnopharmacology 101. 238–242.

So around 14.6g dry = 0.350g of mescaline

Total alkaloid weight would be around 1.168 grams.

I'd say this would be a minimum starting dose of quality dried peyote material for those wanting a psychadelic mescaline experience, but I'm only guessing from the data outlined in the paper so don't take my word for it.

Unless one is a member of the NAC, that is. However, someone would have to be a tribal member for that too.

You can be a non-native and join the "Peyote Way Chuch of God" and legally do Peyote.

Google- "Peyote Way" if your interested.

We have talked about allowing discussion of personal drug use but not encouraging others to do anything illegal. It's not a formal new rule yet.

You know I've heard of doses as high as 12-15 buttons! I wonder if those are tiny little buttons or what?

Peyote should be at least 3-5 years past flowering age before its harvested I think, it should also be grown in harsh conditions for 2-3 years before harvest.

Peyote takes at least 6-8 years to mature. Large buttons when fresh take four to six buttons to be the equivalent of 300-500 milligrams of mescaline sulfate, that is a clinical dose of peyote and is the equivalent of a normal NAC Indian ceremonial dosage.

One dried ounce of peyote buttons is equal to four dosages equivalent to 300-500 milligrams of chemical. a 1/4 quarter ounce of peyote (7 grams dried) is a normal dose for anyone who wants an Indian experience from peyote.

That quarter ounce could be four to five dried buttons or as many ars ten to 15 smaller dried buttons.

Buit the 1/8 to a quarter dried ounce of 3 and 1/2 dried grams to 7 grams is the normal dose for most.

I have posted images of small and large buyttons in a recent post regarding the NAC and the questionable Peyote Way of Life Church.

Where is that post?

And what do you mean questionable?

They have been around since the 1970s! And it's called "The Peyote Way Church of God" not whatever you said.

LOL... the "Peyote Way of Life".... :)

The small and large dried buttons are in another of your threads.

Along with photos of Peyote books I recommended that you read.

Been a few weeks. Have you yet read any of the literature?

http://www.spiritplants.org/long-house- ... 63-15.html

You can view the dried buttons here

You also said: Regarding your Peyote way church of God.

Quote:

Like the Mazatec and other Mesoamerican descendants of the Aztecs, Olmecs and Toltecs. The Indians do not eat shrooms to find or seek god and the Peyotists do not seek god. They seek the spirits and advice of their ancestors.

It is the Westerners who take entheogens to seek God.

Like Maria Sabina said, before the Wasson's, no one took mushrooms to seek god or see him. Those attributes of seeking God are the white men who followed in the footsteps of the Wasson's.

While the peyote way church of god may have been around from the 1970s. The NAC is the true religion of peyote users and they are the real government approved religion of the Indians who use peyote and they are mostly members who belong to the NAC. Federal law requires to be a legitimate member one has to be able to prove that they have at least 1/4 pure Indian blood in them.

They just do not hand out papers to people over the internet and make them members.

You seem to be missing the point of what the religion is about because you still have not read any of the pertinent literature of the religion or the articles I posted to help you in your vision quest, but it is hard to tell what vision you are seeking because you make many threads and posts of wanting to grow and do many other natural plant drugs.

As Sasha Shulgin once pointed out, there is no difference between Peyote, San Pedro and mescaline sulfate.

Chemically, the results are the same. If you are an organic chemist you can extract the
mescaline from the peyote or make the mescaline synthetically in the lab.

Chemically there is no difference between the two and they are both the same. Only one is without the plant material surrounding the chemical found within.

But then I also see all of your other posts about other plant substances you either want to grow or try or you post others information and sometimes others photographs and when you do that you need to give credit to everyone else whose photographs you post without giving credit to the person whose photographs you post in some of your threads.

Try to be considerate of others works whom you site because they worked hard in school to post that information and share it with others.

If you are serious about your wanting to learn about these substances then go back to schoool or start reading the literature available about these plant substances.

The scholars and teachers and students who study these plants and gte grants like I do to go to foreign places to study them do so because we are paying for an education to learn about the miracle in these plants.

Find a copy of Christian Ratsch's Encyclopedia of Psychoactive Plants. Usually cost about $125.00 for the English edition and about $90 for the original German edition.

Close to 1,000 psychoactive plants are described.

have a shroomy day

do you know if i can find some of that literature in the web?
u$s 125 = $400, but i'd love to read it... if there's no chance, can you point out some other more affordable titles?
I'm insterested in everything regarding teacher plants, chemical compounds and spiritual teachings, and anything you can think of, i'd be glad to read.
and, if it's not too personal to ask, what did you study?

Just popping into this thread to say hi to all the cactophiles. As mod, I've been really absent and just hoping no one really needed me
:P
I see a wee conflict over the 'self-incrimination' issue. The team have been discussing this (behind the green door) and we find that most people only speak directly of substance use if it is legal where they live and at present we just rely on the maturity of our membership. We are so international (the site owner is *not* American) that we are beyond the law of any one country ....
