The Bayou Boys ( my zydeco band) has released it's brand spanking new CD SWAMP TRACKS. It's a mixture of Louisiana classics and originals.

Special feature: My lead vocal debut(recorded) on the great tune Junko Partner written by the great James Booker and covered by everyone from Proffesor Longhair to the Clash to well, The Bayou Boys.

http://www.Bayouband.com

It costs $15.00 and for a limited time I will pay postage in the US and negotiate elsewhere for SPF members.

Tin foil it is then... A fine choice might I add... Nice to have available when cranial protection issues arise, as we are all aware happens from time to time.....

That's what I was thinking.

My friend Tommy helped write a song with our homey who was playing with Jefferson Starship. They cut it and I guess it did ok, cause though Tommy got screwed out of most of his royalties he did get a gold record. One day he decided to put it on his turntable and see how it sounded. It played Moon River.

Moon River :P --- Yeah well. I guess it's time I reval a darkly hidden secret from senors' past.... Seems senor had this major crush on this redhead gal named Jane Bartlett... I was in 6th grade; band class was just getting started for the year, and there was a newb babe, wasn't in band the year before.... To my shock, they put her in the drum section with me and the other 4 guys from the year before... All the guys grumbled around, hating the fact that we now had a chick in the drumm section... I didn't say anything, but I thought it was cool... Sorta like when a babe rides their own Harley.... She'd never played drums before, so incrementally, I showed her what all the percussion thing was about... She was a fast learner and had a natural dexterity and sense of timing to boot.... So, I copped a super crush on her  ---- A school dance was fast approaching... Now, this was back in 'da day, when they spun 45's that we'd bring..... I went to my local record store and bought Moon River.... I gave it to Jane that Friday during band class and told her "here Jane, we can dance to this if you are going to the dance tonight".... After school, I went home and prepared for my 'big night'.... Picked out my coolest clothes, combed my hair oh so precisely, sloshed on half a bottle of 'Jade East', and headed to the dance.... I got to the dance and looked around. There she was, alas, she was there with one of the jocks  Jocks  Damn, senor never expected something so uncool.... When they dimmed the lights and called out for the 'moonlight dance', I waited with breathless anticipation... They played all 3 of the 'moonlight' songs and none was Moon River  ... As the 3rd song was ending I looked around the room and Jane and the jock were nowhere to be found.... I guessed they'd split to somewhere to go make out..... Senor trudged home carrying the heavy burden of a man rejected...Senor never gave 'ole Janey any more tips on things percussion, and Jane never mentioned the dance or the record... Senor was a bit relieved when Jane became a cheerleader in 7th, and dropped out of band.......................
