Sorry for the confusion, JRL. Where I come from, shredding is a good thing.

Btw, the Prince of Polyester was a child prodigy on the fiddle/violin.

Just my pet peave with that word. Comes from working in a music store and listening to "shredders" going dweedly dweedly.

The kind of shredding I am talking about is mindless finger wiggling with minimal melodic and harmonic content. You know me: I'd jump over 10 Yngvies and 20 Zack Wildes to hear B.B. King play one note.
